High School Academics

Our High School supports low ratios, cross-divisional mentoring, service learning and leading, project-based approaches, and time for reflection. KISJ High School students take a typical college-preparatory class load with a modified-block schedule of 4 classes per day, and can challenge themselves through Honors and Advanced Placement® courses, as well as visual and performing arts. We currently offer 15 AP® courses, including:
Language and Composition, Literature, U.S. History, World History
Chinese, Spanish Language and Culture, Studio Art
Biology, Calculus AB and BC, Chemistry
Economics, Environmental Sciences, Psychology
Physics 1 and 2, Statistics
Honors courses include Honors Algebra/Geometry I, Honors Algebra/Geometry II, Honors English, Honors Algebra II and Geometry 9, and Honors Algebra, and Geometry 10. Please see our Course Guide for full descriptions of all our offerings.
Our co-curricular activities and clubs provide opportunities for High School students to develop skills and interests beyond the classroom. Examples of offerings include: National Honors Society, Model United Nations, Global Issues Network, Jazz Band, Robotics, Forensics, Chess, and Photography, as well as Chemistry, Multimedia, Fashion Design, and Spanish Honors Society.
