We are a community of learners who strive to create an emotionally safe and engaging environment while delivering high-quality English language instruction with an American standards-based curriculum.
We’re now fourteen years into our experiment and incredibly proud of the outcome.
The Elementary School is a learning community that encourages students to work together, develop compassion, and to actively contribute. Our students are empowered to work and support each other through play and academics, while maintaining positive behavior. Learning within an international community, our students also build the social skills and relationships that are necessary in an ever-changing world.
Middle school is the ideal opportunity for young adolescents to explore who they are and how they fit into the world. Through the iterative process, students will come to an understanding of who they are as learners, what they’re passionate about and ultimately how they will contribute to a better tomorrow
Synergetic collaboration and creativity are hallmarks of our High School. Transformative thinking and the ability to thrive in challenging circumstances will distinguish KISJ graduates.
Our dorm staff truly love working with students and are committed to building a community where everyone feels happy, safe, and included. It’s important to us that dorm students have opportunities throughout the year to acquire new interests and skills, pursue their passions, and connect with people from different cultural backgrounds. KISJ has a team of dedicated ELL specialists who collaborate with other teachers to co-plan, co-teach, co-assess, and co-reflect in order to support the needs of our language learners across all domains of language (listening, speaking, reading, and writing).

KISJ is a public-private, co-educational boarding and day school that offers remarkable facilities for athletics, academic studies and the arts from Junior-Kindergarten through Grade 12. 🤖 🏆 VEX IQ Korean National Championship 🏆 🤖 We are excited to host the 2026 VEX IQ Korean National Championship at our school from January 30 - February 1st in our High School Gymnasium. 🌍 ✨ This tournament marks a meaningful milestone for our community as we welcome elementary and middle school teams from across Korea to learn, collaborate, and compete together. 🚀 🤝 As the first international school on Jeju - and the first outside of mainland Korea - to host a VEX IQ tournament, we are proud to support innovation and STEM learning in a global context. 🎶 🌎 AMIS MS International Honor Choir in Dubai ! 🌎 🎶 Day 1 of the AMIS Middle School International Honor Choir Festival is officially in the books in Dubai! KISJ Choir students, along with Mrs. Tiana Gilliam, challenged themselves by learning new music in six languages - German, Arabic, Malay, Swahili, Xhosa, and English - while collaborating with fellow performers from 25 international schools in Asia. Our students also had the opportunity to enjoy an inspiring performance by The Krokodiloes, Harvard University's oldest a cappella group, and ended the day with a beautiful sunset beach outing for dinner. 🌇 We are so proud of how our students are representing KISJ on the international stage! As a meaningful launch to Exploration Week 2026, KISJ Middle School students welcomed a special guest to campus—a Jeju Haenyeo (해녀) diver, Ms. Jade, who shared her life, work, and experiences as part of this remarkable local tradition. Students remained engaged well beyond the session, asking thoughtful questions and deepening their understanding of the Haenyeo culture, recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage. This first-hand learning opportunity offered students a powerful connection to Jeju’s history and community, bringing cultural studies to life in an authentic and memorable way. MIT Comes to KISJ: Explore, Engineer, Innovate We are excited to welcome four MIT students to KISJ for a special two-week series of hands-on STEM workshops designed exclusively for our Middle School and High School students! Grade 6 students traveled back in time to Ancient Egypt through an interdisciplinary learning journey 📜✨ Blending science, math, English, and social studies, students researched pharaohs, explored mummification, engineered pyramid structures, and designed Egyptian artifacts using Tinkercad. The unit culminated in a Celebration of Learning, where students proudly showcased their understanding through presentations, models, and hands-on creations.
