Grade 2 Faculty

 

 

Brandon Lopez, Grade 2 

Brandon Lopez is from Miller Place, New York, but most recently worked in Washington, D.C., U.S.A. He holds a master’s degree in Special Education from St. Joseph’s College, and a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from State University of New York at Cortland. Brandon joined KISJ in 2018. 

I think everyone should read The Harry Potter Series by J.K Rowling as well as The Lorax by Dr. Seuss. 

Outside of school, I most enjoy playing the drums, surfing, fishing, golfing, and tennis. 

I’m inspired by music!

 

 

Hanh Huynh, Grade 2 

 

Hanh Huynh is from San Diego, CA USA and Toronto, ON Canada, but most recently worked in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. She holds a master's degree in Education from University of California San Diego (UCSD), and a bachelor's degree in English Literature from George Washington University. Hanh joined KISJ in 2022. 

 

I think everyone should read The Precious Present by Spencer Johnson. 

 

Outside of school, I most enjoy spending time with my two cats (Jac and Shushi), dancing the salsa, and reading. 

 

I'm inspired by kindness and compassion and those who constantly thrive to learn, grow, and positively affect others. 

 

Jordanna Morrison, Grade 2

Jordanna Morrison is from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, but most recently worked in Beijing, China. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Primary/Junior Education from the Schulich School of Education (Nipissing University), as well as a bachelor’s degree in Contemporary Studies from Wilfrid Laurier University. Jordanna joined KISJ in 2017.

I think everyone should read  Matilda by Roald Dahl.

Outside of the classroom, I most enjoy spending time with friends, hanging out with my dog, playing The Sims, and traveling—a combination of any of these activities is a guaranteed good time. 

I’m inspired by children’s endless and resilient thirst for discovery and adventure.

 

 

Michelle Kim, Grade 2

 

Michelle Kim is from Toronto, Canada and has worked mostly in Canada. She holds a Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education and attended Montessori Teacher's College in Toronto. Michelle joined KIS in 2022 .

 

I think everyone should read The Midnight Library by Matt Haig.

 

Outside of school, I enjoy pushing myself through the various hobbies that I have. I love to run, hike, bike, and lift weights.

 

I am inspired by random acts of kindness, my family, and nature.

 

 

Tessaly Cameron, Literacy Specialist Grade 2

Tess Cameron is from the Comox Valley in British Columbia, Canada but most recently worked in Shanghai, China. She holds a Bachelor of Education Degree and a Bachelor of Arts Degree, both from Vancouver Island University. Tess joined KISJ in 2018. 

I think everyone should read Have You Filled a Bucket Today? - A Guide to Daily Happiness for Kids, written by Carol McCloud. 

Outside of school, I most enjoy spending time outdoors, specifically hiking, mountain biking and kayaking. 

I'm inspired by my students when their eyes light up the first time they "get it!"

 

 

(Catherine) Chan Young Park, Teaching Assistant Grade 2

(Catherine) Chan Young Park most recently worked in Chiang Mai, Thailand. She holds a bachelor's degree in English Communication from Payap University. She joined KISJ in 2019.

I think everyone should read The Giving Tree by Sherl Silverstein and A Bear Called Paddington by Michael Bond.

Outside of school, I most enjoy spending time with my friends, watching movies, playing piano and fishing.

I'm inspired by traveling and exploring new places and learning new things.
