We are a community of learners who strive to create an emotionally safe and engaging environment while delivering high-quality English language instruction with an American standards-based curriculum.
We’re now fourteen years into our experiment and incredibly proud of the outcome.
The Elementary School is a learning community that encourages students to work together, develop compassion, and to actively contribute. Our students are empowered to work and support each other through play and academics, while maintaining positive behavior. Learning within an international community, our students also build the social skills and relationships that are necessary in an ever-changing world.
Middle school is the ideal opportunity for young adolescents to explore who they are and how they fit into the world. Through the iterative process, students will come to an understanding of who they are as learners, what they’re passionate about and ultimately how they will contribute to a better tomorrow
Synergetic collaboration and creativity are hallmarks of our High School. Transformative thinking and the ability to thrive in challenging circumstances will distinguish KISJ graduates.
Our dorm staff truly love working with students and are committed to building a community where everyone feels happy, safe, and included. It’s important to us that dorm students have opportunities throughout the year to acquire new interests and skills, pursue their passions, and connect with people from different cultural backgrounds. KISJ has a team of dedicated ELL specialists who collaborate with other teachers to co-plan, co-teach, co-assess, and co-reflect in order to support the needs of our language learners across all domains of language (listening, speaking, reading, and writing).

KISJ is a public-private, co-educational boarding and day school that offers remarkable facilities for athletics, academic studies and the arts from Junior-Kindergarten through Grade 12. 🏆 🌏 Congratulations to our students who represented our school at the 2026 GENIUS Olympiad Finals in the United States! 🌏 🏆 The GENIUS Olympiad brought together more than 1,200 finalists from over 75 countries, showcasing innovative projects across Science, Art, AI, Robotics, Coding, and Entrepreneurship. 📰 Introducing the inaugural KISJ Annual! After months of writing, editing, designing, and collaboration, we are proud to present the first-ever issue of the KISJ Annual — a student-led newspaper and journal capturing the people, events, and ideas that shaped our school year. What began as a vision to preserve the stories of our community has grown into one of the largest student-led publications in recent KISJ history. This project brings together voices from across campus — including clubs, honor societies, and student-founded organizations — under the Quill & Scroll umbrella to create a lasting record of our high school community. We are also excited to feature highlights from across our school community, including: 👨🏫 A faculty feature on Mr. Palmer, our AP Biology Reader (College Board AP Exam grader). We are incredibly grateful for his dedication and proud to highlight his work as part of our community! 🚀 The Rocket Propulsion Lab Club, showcasing amazing student innovation, collaboration, and passion for engineering and exploration. 🎨 Contributions from our elementary school students, who were invited to participate in this publication project! 🏆 Congratulations to our PhysicsBowl participants! 🔬⚡ This year marked KISJ’s first-ever participation in the PhysicsBowl, an international physics competition organized by the American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT). Eight of our students took on the challenge, demonstrating their knowledge and passion for physics. A special congratulations to Hajun Kim and Kevin Kim for earning Honourable Mention awards, and to Samuel Choi for receiving a Gold Award by placing in the top 15% of participants across Asia! 🌟 Samuel has also qualified to attend the PhysicsBowl Asia Camp in Beijing, where students from international schools across Asia will have the opportunity to further explore physics alongside professors and educators invited by AAPT. We are incredibly proud of Samuel, Hajun, Kevin, and all of our participants for representing KISJ so well in our inaugural PhysicsBowl competition. 👏 Congratulations! Our Grade 6 Semester 2 Learning Celebration was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the creativity, growth, and hard work of our students throughout the semester ✨ From Science models and design projects, to Social Studies explorations of ancient civilizations, Shakespeare presentations in English, and Math-themed party projects featuring budgeting, geometry, and 3D design — students confidently shared their learning with families, peers, and teachers in such meaningful ways.
